Welcome to a new issue of Nordic Journal of Studies in Policing! In this open issue, you can read more about policing and penal provisions on repeated and severe domestic violence (Aas, 2019), and open drug scenes (Hennen & Gerell, 2019). You may read about doing critical research on powerful organisations (Holgersson & Wieslander, 2019), and about ethnic minorities and their experiences of school visits by the police (Solhjell, 2019). In addition, we offer an essay on the role of the generalist in intelligence-led policing (Paulsen & Simensen, 2019). A little something for all, so to speak!

We are also very happy to have completed a lengthy work on establishing a Nordic scientific editorial advisory board. Welcome to Henrik Stevnsborg (DK), Liv Finstad (NO), Lars Holmberg (DK), and Paul Larsson (NO) who have agreed to join us there. For more info on the editorial advisory board, the policy of the journal, and the organisation of the editorial team, see our website. We are working on establishing a Twitter account in order to disseminate the knowledge that you are participating in developing to an even wider audience. Moreover, we would like to thank Mehdi Ghazinour from Sweden for his efforts as Editor-in-Chief. We look forward to having you back in the editorial team again.

The journal is, as many know in the midst of its sixth year. In the time that has passed, the editorial team has expanded. We are experiencing an increase in submitted contributions, both scientific articles, essays, book-, and report reviews, and authors increasingly come from all Nordic countries. Since we were established in 2014, and until 2016, we have had 14 419 readers, including readers who have downloaded and read articles online. In 2017 we had 10 877 readers, in 2018 14 271, and until now in 2019, we have had 11 604 readers. Thank you very much for your trust!

We wish you good reading and food for thought!
