In this special issue we call for abstracts that consider methodological challenges, limits, and possibilities for future research on policing and the police. The aim is to explore the conditions under which research on policing is facilitated and regulated by the research community, the state, and other stakeholders in the Nordic region. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, regulation of access to data, challenges in producing critical research, and the significance of the researcher’s institutional affiliation. We welcome contributions that discuss the possibilities and pitfalls associated with new technological possibilities, as well as discussions on methodological, ethical and/or legal challenges in the multidisciplinary field of police research.
In order to further Nordic and international distribution, all papers must be written in English. Deadline for contributions will be February 1st, 2018, and interested authors are encouraged to submit abstracts as soon as possible and no later than June 25th 2017. Authors will receive feedback about whether the abstract is accepted for submission of a full paper (1.2.18) shortly after the deadline.
Both individual and collaborative articles may be submitted. We highly encourage authors of cross-national collaborative and comparative articles to submit to this special issue.
Our time schedule is as follows:
-
Deadline for submission: February 1st 2018
-
Deadline final version: August 3rd 2018
-
Word limit: Between 3500 and 8000 words
We look very much forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Spesial issue editors
